EcoMaine is an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and sustainable solid waste disposal solutions that are safe for the people and the environment. Getting a better understanding of the correct and best way to dispose of waste will lead to the betterment of Maine’s environment and community. One way EcoMaine supports sustainability is by using waste from towns as fuel to generate and sell electricity, which also helps reduce trash volume by 90 percent to extend landfill life. Currently, a total of 73 communities utilize EcoMaine resources and facilities throughout Maine. However, not every community uses EcoMaine, and if you want to join the EcoMaine sustainability cause, you can contact your local officials and request their support.
